GAMARVANI

Hello again! Now i would like to tell you about my experience in Gamarvani.

What is GAMARVANI?

Gamarvani is one of an art and culture festival held by 3 Senior High School. Gamarvani itself taken from two Sankskrit word; Gammar which means "journey" and Parvani which means "moon". So, Gamarvani means "A Journey to The Moon". It took one of West Java folks tales, Nyai Anteh, as its theme. The festival held 2 months ago, exactly on September 19th 2015 and it took place at Bali Field, near my school. That day, the Gamarvani Committee had to arrive at the field at around 5 a.m. Because i was one of the committe, i had to wake up really early that day. The air was so cold that i had to wear layered clothes that time. A few minutes after that, the chief finally came and gave us briefing. We, as the committee, really hoped that Gamarvani would be a big success.

Gamarvani itself had arranged to begin at 9.30 a.m. But before that, there was a parade competition joined by 10th grade and elementary students. The parade started at 7.30 a.m. All of the participants wore traditional Sundanese clothes, which were Pangsi (for boys) and Kebaya (for girls). Unfortunately, i didn't watch or join the parade, but i was sure that the parade was great.

Finally, the gate opened at half past nine. When we entered the field, we could see a really big stage with "GAMARVANI" text and Nyai Anteh illustration hanged on the top. We also could see a lot of foodstands and foodtrucks in every corner of the field (that was my favourite part^^). There were so many traditional snacks too! Those snacks were free for all visitors ( sadly the committe couldn't taste it ). The festival opened with the speech from 3 Senior High School Headmaster and the chief of Gamarvani Committee. Finally the show began with the performances of some extracuriculer from 3 Senior High School, such as LSS 3, KPA 3, KV 3, and Tiloe's Theater. There were also some of Sundanese Art and Cultural performers like Manggala Awi, ArumbAcoustic, Wayang Golek Giri Harja, and many more.

The show was exciting! Although at first the visitors weren't that much, but it became crowded near lunch time. I met a lot of my old friends from elementary school and junior high school there. We bought so many foods and drinks ( fortunately my mom gave me extra-pocket money that day :') ). My favourites were LOL's Matcha ice cream and Bandung traditional food called "Seblak" (my friend gave me some and it taste so delicious ;;_;;)! We spent our day by walking around the field, chatting and sharing each other stories, and of course we also enjoyed every performances. It was great. But sometimes we would sit on the corner of the field to rest for a while.

At around 6 p.m, the field was getting more and more crowded, it was totally different than before. Well, maybe it was because the next performance would perform by our guest stars; Adera and HiVi! The first guest star that would perform was Adera. Before Adera performed, i went to mushola to do the maghrib prayer with my friends. Unfortunately, the mushola was so crowded that we had to queue for a long time. After finished the prayer, i felt a little tired. So we decided to stay in mushola until isya. Although i didn't get a chance to watch Adera, i thought his performance was a success because i could hear him singing beautifully from far (though i didn't really know him =)) sorry..). Besides, the crowd seemed happy, too :)). But then, I couldn't stay any longer in mushola because i already felt hungry. So, after we did the Isya prayer, we started to buy some food to eat and waited for HiVi performance.

Not long after that, maybe at 8 p.m., HiVi performed! The visitors immediately came closer to the stage and made the field really crowded. But, i was so excited!  HiVi brought their songs amazingly. The crowd sang along with them and waved their hands, as well as me and my friends. It was an amazing performance!

HiVi!~
The show was finally over at 10 p.m. I felt really happy, but sad at the same time because i had to say goodbye to my old friends (moreover, there were a bunch of homeworks that i had to finish in the next day). However, i didn't feel any regret at all. Gamarvani was the best art and culture festival! I would love to come to another event like that in the next year^^ and of course, i would love to be a part of the committee again~

About My Friend

Hi everyone! Now i would like to tell you about my new friend. Her name is Winda Amelia Hidayat. You can call her Winda. We are studying in the same senior high school, but she isn't from my class. She is from X-Science 1,  which is located next to my class. However, i rarely see her around when it comes to break time. Maybe it's because i usually stay in my class on break time. I usually meet her in Additional English Class because we're classmates in there. Winda is a nice person, she is kind and really friendly.

Winda was born in Bandung, 4th July 2000. She have been living in Bandung since she was born, exactly in Terusan Leuwi Anyar VII  number 10. She has 2 step siblings and they all are younger than her. One is an eight years old boy, and the other is a six years old girl. She has some hobbies that i'm sure everyone else has them too. Her hobbies are playing and chatting with her friends (so do i!). She also likes to listening to music. When i asked her about her favourite food, she immediately answered fried rice. Well, fried rice is everyone's favourite.

Biology is her favourite school subjects. She said to me that biology teacher was really a fun teacher, therefore she likes biology. I like biology as well, but not as much as i love art :). The person who has inspired her is her own dad! I forgot to ask her about the reason behind it, but it must be for a good one. In the future, she really wants to be a programmer ( i honestly don't really know about that kind of job ) though she hasn't learned about programming that much. I  hope that she can be a successful programmer in the future ^^.

That's all about my new friend. Thank you!

About Myself

Hi! My name is Rayssa Tsania Putri. You can call me Rayssa or Nia, but i'd rather be called Nia. I was born in Makassar, 21st October 2000. I live in Bandung along with my parents, my older brother, and my younger sister. I'm a student of 3 Senior High School Bandung, in class X-Science 2. And this year was my first grade of high school. Previously, i was a student of Darul Hikam Junior High School and graduated in June 2015.

I have a lot of hobbies like drawing, reading a novel, eating, sleeping, and many more. But the one i like the most is drawing. I've been drawing since i was in kindergarten and it became my hobby since then. I draw when i have some spare time, when i feel stressed, or when i need some refreshment after studying too much. I really love to draw humans or flowers (especially with watercolor technique!) or just a mere doodles. Compared to the other artist that had succeeded out there, my artwork maybe isn't as great or as beautiful as theirs. But i have a big dream to be an illustrator (like a storybook illustrator, for example) and make my parents proud then. Aamiin.

Actually, I don't really have any particular favorite things. I just really love art. In school, art is the only subject that make me feel relaxed, because it fits with my hobby and there's no calculating or something we usually find in math and science (but it doesn't mean that i hate math or science, they can be really fun to learn sometimes). I hope that when i graduated from 3 Senior High School, i can continue my study to ITB's Faculty of Art and Design and pursue my dream to be a great illustrator.

I think that's all for my introduction. Thank you for reading^^!
